Why you should read it: We've been introduced to the concept of the time loop; "Two weeks turned into five years" -- and we know the people stuck inside one remember what occurred while they were trapped -- but as viewers, that's all we've been told and we can interpret it however we like.
Squinting at the clock as a holiday or weekend draws to a close, it's easy to see that having a do-over day could be beneficial. All those things on the task list could be crossed off, or like Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day, you could learn to play the piano really well. Or if you're Jack, Ianto or Gwen, you could wake up locked in the Hub on Christmas morning with a hangover. Over and over and over. On one hand, you already know you're not going to face an alien threat that day (for a change), and you're got each other. On the other hand, all you've got is each other.
Like immortality, a time loop has its benefits... and its dark side.
