Summary: When Captain Jack Harkness visits Bletchley Park to prepare for a mission aimed at stealing code books from the Germans, Dr Alan Turing can't help but indulge his curiosity.
Why you should read it: Be it Proust, Chris Isherwood, or a pair of twin acrobats, our Jack has never seemed particularly shy about his past conquests (or, it seems, about sleeping his way through history). While he's never name-dropped Turing in canon, it's a safe bet a certain captain could have had means, motive, and opportunity.
"Operation Ruthless" is a delightfully plausible bit of alternate history. While
the mission never saw the light in our reality (possibly on account of risk to the pilot), it's a tantalizing example of something that could have gone differently in the Whoniverse. Add to it the sheer cool factor of Jack working with Ian Flemming, and the great chemistry between
dani_the_girl's Turing and Jack, and this story is a clear winner.
