Summary: He didn’t like those days, the moments of lost reality and the lack of movement in them. One minute it was Wednesday, the next it was Friday. In between wasn’t even a memory.

Why you should read it: This is an older fic, written in the summer of 2007, making it one of the 'classics' in this young fandom. And it's a really intriguing take on Ianto, as well as an excellent depiction of his internal life after Jack leaves. The past moments with Jack, as contrasted to the struggling present are painful, knowing that Ianto is looking back on them through the lens of loss - the hindsight of realizing that those moments weren't permanent, are now gone, possibly forever. Time and its passing - or not - figures strongly in this story as Ianto struggles through days that seem unanchored and empty. In addition, I quite like Owen in this story; rough as he is, he refuses to pity Ianto which I think is the healthiest response of them all.
