[Milliways] OOM: Eirene Visit, Part 1

Apr 07, 2008 15:11

Okay, so maybe next time Chloe decides to bring a friend home from Milliways, she shouldn't do it in the middle of morning rush hour. Even on a Sunday, the Talon is hopping. It is (in Chloe's opinion, anyway) the only place in all of Smallville where you can get a decent cup of joe ( Read more... )

Chloe will have to permit Eirene a few seconds of staring. Even Milliways never prepared her for a place like the Talon. Hell, Clark trying to describe the place once never prepared her. She gawks at the pseudo-Egyptian graffiti and the collision of color on her way up the stairs.

"I LOVE this place."

"I'll admit that I was skeptical at first, but Lana definitely did good with this place," Chloe replies, beaming. She's happy Eirene approves of the Talon. Aside from Milliways and the Planet, it's her next favorite hang out.

As they walk up the stairs (it's not that much of a climb; only to what would be the third floor in an apartment building), the dimmed reddish light of the cafe fades into a typical hallway bright light. They pass a storage closet and then Chloe stops at the next door.

"Okay, it's not much, but it gets me out of living with my dad. And, trust me, when your best friend is a wannabe superhero, you need all the excuses to get away that you can."

She unlocks the door (the key from Riley jingling next to a picture keychain of the couple) and walks into the living room, shrugging slightly. "My bed's big enough for both of us, so you don't have to worry about taking the couch or anything. Um, just put your bag anywhere, okay?"

Eirene very much approves of the Talon. Or, at least, the small portion of it she saw. She may decide to live at one of the tables later once she sees the rest of the coffee house. For the moment, she's more focused on getting up the stairs without tripping (because of the gawking) and is rather relieved with the flat hallway.

"Yeah, that would be a problem. He really is too much of a boy scout for his own good." And Eirene can get away with that because she looked the term up a while back. "But, enough about your best friend. The guest shouldn't make the host feel uncomfortable right?"

The moment she steps in, the blonde emits a sigh. "Oh, look at this. Wow. Lots of open space. I can deal with here for a few days." The bag is set politely just to one side of the counter.

"In case it becomes an issue, I have a bit of a problem with small, enclosed spaces. Oh, hey. I like that keychain." Mainly because she knows both parties ... or, well, sort of. Ahem.

Hesitantly: "Thank you."

Chloe nods, filing that information in her head.

"You're not the only one. I was, um... kind of buried alive once. It's amazing what that sorta thing does to your previously lacking case of claustrophobia."

But she smiles and flops down on the couch.

"But you're totally welcome. Seriously, it's no problem at all. It'll be fun to have someone aside from Lois around for a while." Chloe bites down on her lip and frowns at that. "Speaking of Lois... we need an excuse for your presence. I'm thinking cousin? Dad's side of the family isn't very big on the whole reunion thing, so Lois doesn't know most of them. Mind being Eirene Sullivan for your duration in Kansas?"
