So that West Wing/Atlantis cross over I'm not writing? This is a future-snippet which won't fit with the timeline of the actual fic, but it seemed a shame to waste it

Oh, this is coooool. And hilarious - I love Rodney freaking out over the death threats and John being so casual, and how Bartlett really likes Rodney and Ronon, how perfect as a bodyguard, and this: “I miss Lorne,” he said. “He was into football.”
Another silence. Then: “I surf.”
John had almost been on the brink of writing a word. He sat up quickly. “Yeah?” he said. “Tell me more.”
is fantabulous - how long will it be before Rodney is jealous of Ronon and John connecting over surfing?
I really wanted to get this into the proper story, but that's going to end with John and Rodney getting together so all the established relationship stuff I've got in my head (and that's a lot) has no place to go :(
Aw nuts. But if you have all this established stuff in your head, it will be nice and easy for you to write the sequel that we're all going to clamour for, right?
It was true, President Bartlet had taken to Rodney the way he never really took to new people, though God knew why. He seemed to find it amusing when Rodney corrected his math on a regular basis and informed him that an Nobel in Economics wasn’t a real Nobel.
LOVE! I totally love this! I'm so happy you're writing a full length crossover/AU! Any chance Josh and Donna will make it in?
Yep, Josh and Donna will definitely be there (though whether in a shippy way I'm not quite decided) - in fact the only people not in it are Sam and Will, because I've sort of given John their job.
*laughs* This is so, so cool. Do you mind if I give it a mention over at my lj? :)
I loved the imagery of Rodney with his sleeves pushed up. Josh always made that look hot on TWW :D. Then there's Ronon admitting that his mother likes John!
“You’re a queer English major with stupid hair and complete boxsets of Buffy, Battlestar Galactica and Dr. Who; you have no street cred.” *cracks up*
“No wonder the mothers of America like you, you speak their language.”
“My mom likes him,” Ronon rumbled, merely raising an eyebrow and looking depressingly unthreatened when John turned to glare at him.
Ronon just kinda grins at people when they glare at him, doesn't he? Which makes it all the more funny that Jason Maoma was intimidated by the Hewlett.
and this:
John had almost been on the brink of writing a word. He sat up quickly. “Yeah?” he said. “Tell me more.”
hehe I am so familiar with this line of though, intimatly familiar, and you express it so well. I'm now really fascinated by this au.
Also, in case you have any questions about DC feel free to ask me. I've never seen the West Wing, but I am a native Washingtonian.

*sigh* Oh definitely. At least 50% of my desire to write this comes from the fact it will be John and Rodney. In suits. All the time. Yum.
Hee and I love your icon!

I actually shrieked with laughter at this:
“No wonder the mothers of America like you, you speak their language.”
“My mom likes him,” Ronon rumbled, merely raising an eyebrow and looking depressingly unthreatened when John turned to glare at him.
