The resemblance is very slight, but it's become a running gag... Besides, Rick Astley is hot! =p

Another way you can find your reservation with a hotel, should it in fact be listed under a misspelled/mistyped name (hotel clerks are human, too) is to politely request that they look up who is coming in on that particular day. They should be able to run their finger down the list and see if your name is on there, or something close to it. Another thing, very important: sometimes clerks can accidentally put your reservation UNDER THE WRONG DATE. Always important to get a confirmation number, and then call back a little later to verify name, arrival/departure date, and room type.

Also, if you know you are going to be in an area, always make reservations ahead of time, and check back periodically. When it gets busy, reservations can be juggled around, accidentally.
