So, I'm going to learn Russian, for absolutely no particular reason other than I have a Russian itch I need to scratch.

It will be very casual in the beginning because I seriously need to concentrate on finishing the Polish course I am currently undertaking, plus I promised crassy I would wait until her study responsibilities are less grueling so we can ( Read more... )

I have a digital version of Russian for Dummies and it has audio as well. Do you want me to send it your way?

one of my best friend has been studying russian for a while. she decided to learn it just because. she loves it and decided to start applying for teaching positions over there because of how enamored she became by the culture.

i'm jealous of people who have a flair for learning languages.... i've never been able to get the hang of it!

That's like me with Poland and all things Polish.

I wouldn't say I have a fair for languages, just enough interest to motivate me, but it requires hard work and concentration on my part.

It really IS a beautiful language.

I assume you are from/living in the Russian Federation? May I ask, are Russian citizens allowed to visit Norilsk or is it a closed city for everyone?

Of course I would love to visit Moscow, my dream trip would be to take a train from Vladivostok across the entire country and see as much as possible.

Holy crap!!! $20,000 for a train ride? I thought the Netherlands was pricey!

I didn't expect it to be cheap, that's why it would be the trip of a lifetime although on reflection it may take a couple of lifetimes to save up. :(

That said, I didn't expect I would take an executive sleeper carriage so I wouldn't be too offended by a holey blanket.

That website got me very excited though. The compartments look so cozy!

I speak Polish so this may help me with Russian grammar. When my Russian is as good as your English I will be very happy.

I added you as a friend and included you on my "Russian" filter.
