Also this is totally not related at all, but yesterday I suddenly remembered a girl I went to high school that had a really Welsh first name and a really Dutch last name (Myfanwy van Vliet) and it reminded me of you.

Hahahaha. No one in real life is called Myfanwy! That is the most stereotypical Welsh name ever!!! Odd that she had such a Welsh first name followed by a very typical Dutch name.

Haha welcome to multicultural Canada. 2nd generation immigrant families often like to do traditions that don't even exist in the home country anymore, so it wouldn't surprise me if Myfanwy wasn't even used in Wales anymore :P

It is a lovely name. it comes from the word "annwyl" (Beloved).

It is used in Wales, but mainly in situation comedy like Little Britain.

I went to a Welsh/Scottish town somewhere in Alberta, not to far from Calgary. the chicks there were all too petite, coy, unassuming and polite to be Dutch. ;P
