Fired at 44I never actually heard the words made famous by a certain man on a certain TV show. Instead I got a lot of harrumphing and vague “I-got-some-bad-news” mumbling. Over the phone. The night before my forty-fourth birthday

I know it's mean to say, but i'm sooo sick of hearing this story over and over again. YES she got fired. YES it was on her birthday. YES she's upset by it. But she won't seem to stop until EVERYONE knows, EVERYONE feels bad for her. I don't care if she's brave enough to tell the world. She needs to grow some balls and get over it.
If you were a former model and you were trying to stay in the media/fashion business, you would be writing about your experiences too, in an effort to stay fresh and visible so you could potentially get hired again.
tbh, I doubt I'd trash talk to every interviewer about how terrible my old bosses were, in hopes of getting hired in the future.
that aside, it's mostly that she continually brings this up. she's said it in numerous interviews and television shows, and now she's writing about it in her blog.
we get it.
you were fired, and your bosses sucked.
how many more times do you feel the need to clarify?
That was the whole point of the blog. The fact that it's too much work, and not her style, to hide that she was fired and disguise it as leaving for scheduling or something.
Didn't she get fired like forever ago? Why is she still going on about it? It makes her sound like a bitter bitch who can't get over it =/
She's not the first person to get fired, and she won't be the last. She's not the first person to get fired on their birthday, and she won't be the last. She's not the first to be fired at 40, and she won't be the last.

"getting fired from Top Model was nowhere near as tragic as I’d like to make out. It’s mostly a slight public humiliation"
