Was anyone else surprised Tyra didn't talk about Waris Dirie? She was extremely influential and has raised a lot of awareness about female genital mutilation. If you've never heard of her, she came from Africa almost as an indentured servant, and was then discovered in the UK. She became a very popular model and I think she's written a book or two

Tyra seems to be more interest in shock value than actual education. I think it would be great if she even knows who Waris Dirie is and even better is she mentions her on the show but I'm not holding my breathe. More likely she will just bring it us to get the girl to cry some more.
