don't know if this fits or not...

i was talking about ANTM at a party last week, and someone told me that nik (C5?) is a lesbian. she was on the same season as kim, who was always portrayed at the "butch" of the season, yet (if this is correct info.) i don't remember them mentioning nik's orientation once.

typecasting?

Yep, that's right. And, no, they never did mention Nik's orientation. It's in this article too, if you're interested in what Kim has to say:

During Stolz's season on Top Model, fellow contestant Nik Pace, who wound up in second place, was never revealed to be a lesbian onscreen but was out in real life. “She definitely wasn't hiding anything,” Stolz recalled. “All the contestants knew her sexuality … when we were on the show.”

In addition, Stolz said, “There was another person besides Nik and I who was gay on our season, too, but that name I will not disclose.”

I definitely thing Cover Girl has somewhat of a say. They always talk high fashion, but after C2 the winner is ALWAYS the more commercial girl. I think Cover Girl and Seventeen need to get out of the equation.

After all Elle Mag. did pull out. Do we know why? or just simply because... contract expired or something.

it's funny how nicole, the most childish winner and probably one of the least successful, is trying to distance herself from ANTM. :P while danielle is the only winner to get her CG contract renewed yet she's made a few reappearances on the show and is getting more work than nicole. maybe re-appearing is a ticket to getting more work. i say nicole's dumb. it would make sense if she had lots of work to back up not appearing, but she doesn't really.

Also, have you noticed every post-CW winner has sucked?

I don't think that they've sucked, but they definitely aren't as good. C2 was definitely the best. More polished than C1 and Shandi rules.

I remember reading on Wikipedia once that Shandi was Miss Jay's favorite. Random info.

I AGREE!! I was nervous about how Top Model would be once UPN became the CW and...well...yeah, I was right to be nervous. Cycle 7, 8, and 9 weren't very good at all.

I think CG definitely has a say with who wins just because from what I understand that was a huge thing with Adrianne and C1 because Revlon didn't really think she had the look they want so they had lots of trouble with her contract (thus leading to her hating tyra blah blah blah)

The Revlon thing wasn't really a contract I don't think. At least not a campaign or anything. I think it came out later, via Adrianne, that the "Revlon contract" was actually a few appearances at a Revlon convention.

I remember in Cycle 2 when she guest appeared and talked about how amazing her experience was, she talks about her current work as being: "Sirena diamonds, and this and that and Revlon on the back burner," which seemed to be a sort of jab disguised as, "My life is so busy and great that I don't have time to fit it all in."

I thought that was the problem. It was supposed to be a contract but Revlon didn't like her, er rather she wasn't what they were looking for, so they made her do some convention stuff. Thus she was pissed.
