Do you think the ANTM prize package could be better?

Dec 08, 2007 12:46

As Janice Dickinson has said, none of the winners of ANTM have really lived up to their title. Of course a girl needs to pay her dues before she can really be a top model, but do you think the prize package could include more to really help the winners propel to the top ( Read more... )

the show sucks, queries, the prizes

i know the girls win covergirl contracts, but what does that even mean?

i have never seen any of them on a commercial (except was it danielle? or someone? in the background of one of the queen latifa commercials?) and other than the one ad they shoot, which i can't remember seeing in any magazine at all (maybe i'm reading the wrong ones?) ... what do they do?

i guess i just assume a cosmetics contract = josie maran for maybelline: being the face of most of the products, being in the commercials and print ads, etc.

anyone?

Most of them get a second print ad at least....Nicole did eyeglasses for example. But yes, I agree with you there should be more to a contract with them. They also do the "My life as a covergirl" spots.

On AUSNTM they get a spread in vogue and are signed to be the face of a makeup brand for a year or soemthing like that. Anyway they get good stuff.

I Agree with you! but they still remain famous just in their own country of Australia cos vogue Austrlia is distributed in Aussie and New Zealand not the world.
Where as Seventeen magazine can actually be found here in my country but it isnt high fashioned at all.
The winners may have not used their top model essence to get them anywhere but look at mollie sue! shes doing pretty well for herself!

It's really just a reality show and I think it carries that rep. In the end, you can't really "turn" an ordinary girl into a Top Model, and since those ~inspirational~ ones are usually chosen as winners, there's not much that the fashion industry is going to do with them.

Maybe they should sign up with L'oreal, because it's kind of like Covergirl but there are a lot more ads (I think)

Did you see Jaslene's Seventeen cover?! Lmao, and there was a second issue that month with Jessica Alba on the cover which looked 20x better then Jaslene's cover. Guess who most likely sold the most magazines that month? Yeah a spread in vogue, bazaar, W, even WWD would make more since to me then seventeen. You can't really be taken seriously has a HF model with seventeen and as a model reality show winner on your resume.

It was the same issue. The put Jessica on one side and Jaspeen on the other.

I still find it funny because everywhere I went that carried the magazine had Jessica's side facing out. lol

Lol, I remeber reading about to magazine cover somewhere. Guess I got it mixed up. Lol still that is pretty stupid. I would be pissed if I were Jaslene! I'm still laughing actually.
