One thing that constantly gets me is when the judges will comment that a contestant is too short. Why bother even putting the girl in the competition if, in the end, they will be kicked out due to height

I believe the minimum height is 5'7", actually, because I wanted to audition and when I read the audition requirements, it said you must be at least 5'7", and I'm an inch too short. I remember reading in someone else's comment awhile back that Eva was an inch too short to even be on the show. That's all I've heard about that though so I don't know how/why she got on & won.
I agree with you though. If height is an issue then they need to set an exact range and not crap on any contestants about it. In Sarah's case though, I think the issue is mainly her posture. The judges should really word their criticism better, IMO. Bitching about her 'not using her height' only seems to make her more conscious of it, but in a negative way.
Its so obvious to me that Sara has probably been super tall from a very early age. Alot of my friends who got super tall super quick did everything they could (minus chopping off their legs) to appear shorter so they wouldn't look so awkward compaired to everyone else.
Sara just needs to get comfortable with her height, work on her posture, and it'll improve.
my grandmothers sister is 6'4, and even before she got the old lady hump she walked hunched over. she was always very very aware of it, although the shortest in my family is 5'7 (and they married in).
i think for a long time, especially for women, it was considered almost 'wrong' to be too tall. it wasnt easy to get a husband bigger than you, so unless you had a guy that was comfortable appearing dominant in the relationship in other ways.... this has certainly changed (as a social perogative) in recent years though, of course. my great aunt is in her 80's after all.
ive never dated a guy more than a few inches taller than me though, and always got kinda bummed that i wasnt petite and easily lifted on shoulders during concerts (im 5'9). so i suppose it still kind of sticks
yeah i hear ya.. i'm 5'11 and my fiance is 6'. Once I dated a 6'7 dude and oh my god.. love love love. I think we just loved eachother for the height factor.. but alas, not all tall boys have long term abilities hehehe i like to stand next to my bro (6'5) because it makes me feel small.. lol
Eva was 5'6". I don't understand how she won, but other girls are continually criticized because of their height.
It's all about the ratings and good tv. Tyra and Co. could give a shit about finding an actual bankable model, as evidenced by so many of their bullshit "personality" eliminations.
