We can't go without doing so, Chie-chan. Some kind of even ground needs to be set, if we're going to be stuck here with him.

But we would need a way to imprison or monitor him, and while that might be possible, we'd have to rely on others, too. There doesn't seem to be any kind of justice system here, and even then, it would be our word against his.
