And so Doctor Raj Persaud is brought to book for what he has described as a "cut and paste" error, compounded by his "inability" to "use" quotation marks "correctly

I had completely missed his excuse - he failed to use quotation marks? Ha! At the same time, I guess, he forgot to reference his sources...

I found this story so bizarre: why on earth pretend he had written the pieces in question? Any science writer will use other sources - and respectfully refer to them.

How had someone who is presumably so intelligent failed to see how people would recognise the originals?
