I think this is going to be long enough to deserve a cut, but I hope not so long as to discourage people from reading any of it.

Little Miss Sunshine (no spoilers) )

I hate you so much right now... cdbarker August 22 2006, 21:06:04 UTC
Not really, but I am going to do this, and then I am going to have to explain why it is what it is. This is going to be embarassing for me to explain, but what the hell.

Don't worry/think too hard about it. My answer really comes down to "They make me feel happy", once you unwrap it. And even on the internet I'm an outcast, so who's embarrassed now?

Nice, all around. Don't worry about the comment count. It bugs me sometimes, but thems the breaks. I would do one for my favourite band, except for I don't do lists and I am under the impression that I don't have a favourite band.

I'm glad that you enjoyed Little Miss Sunshine. I quite liked it too, quirky dysfunctional family goes on roadtrip cliche be darned.

Thanks. I actually feel like I said what I wanted to, which is nice. Except I want to be able to put a beat before "They're kind of a big picture band."

I was watching a preview for Trust The Man and thinking, "Do we really need another movie about urban white couples who seem, at worst, mildly bored with their spouses and may be cheating on them?" Then I thought, "Well, I'm here watching another movie about a quirky, dysfuntional family of white people with kind of a wacky grandparent." I guess the important part is that they had a new spin to put on it and they executed well.

Honestly, I didn't even notice the formula at work until long after I had left the theatre. And I don't care, I really liked it. So did pretty much everyone else in the theatre, which was pretty full.
