Gwen silently sat beside Jack’s body. He looked peaceful lying there, pale and dead. Doubts and hope had fought in her mind if he had lied to her about his immortality. Somehow hope seemed to have won, it had been three days. Waiting for a resurrection she told herself.

She started to question why she was sitting next to him. Had she fallen in love him? Well it wouldn’t be surprising if she had. Shrugging she bent over and kissed him on the lips as a last goodbye. Doubt had won this time.

Thank you, Jack whispered from the tray.
