Chapter Thirteen

James

I woke up to a feeling of lips softly kissing my cheek. My blue eyes met with a pair of light brown, belonging to the latest in a line of one night stands. His blonde hair shined in the light that he had turned on from the bedside table. I moved on to my back letting him to kiss me on the lips, quickly deepening with the hunger that he showed in his eyes.

“Je veux vous baiser,” He whispered into my ear then repeated it in English, “I want to fuck you, badly.”

Tonight I was seduced by a French Canadian whose name was Ben. The reason I knew his name was that I had decided to keep a list of my one night stands. My sex binge caused by the high I was experiencing from the bipolar after the deep depression I suffered from Emmett’s words. He didn’t believe that he deserved me. What had that meant?

I looked over at the clock sitting on the bedside table. It showed that it was six o’clock in the morning. I had to be at work in a few hours but I didn’t want to face Jack after seeing him following me last night. I had texted Ianto to tell him to tell Jack to leave me alone and that I was alright. I looked back at Ben.

“I’m sorry, I have to go home.” I told him, which caused him to look a little hurt but he nodded and let me pick up my clothes.

There was a beautiful sunrise waiting for me when I appeared in the street thirty minutes later. I watched it with a smile on my face until I noticed Martha’s car parked across the street. My stomach started to groan with nervousness since she probably had been worried about me. I adjusted the collar on my jacket and walked across the street.

Martha was asleep in the driver’s seat when I appeared through the window. I started to sigh remembering how I wanted to talk to her so badly about how I was feeling. I quietly opened the door and climbed into the passenger seat and silently closed the door. She opened her eyes when I kissed her softly on the cheek.

“Morning, you seriously need to explain yourself mister,” She said, her voice mixed with worry and anger, “A sex binge?”

“Sorry just been on a high,” I replied with my head down, “I did want to tell you how I was feeling, honest.”

Martha put an arm on my shoulder, “What’s wrong, I mean if you are on a high, then you must of been feeling depressed?”

I nodded, “I was depressed for three days until I accidently shot Jack,” I explained with a sigh, “Though I don’t know why Jack’s ‘death’ would make me happy.”

“Maybe because you know he will come back,” Martha suggested with a shrug.

“Yeah maybe,” I replied before opening the door again.

“Hey where do you think you’re going?” Martha asked as she followed me out the car on to the side walk. I looked back at her.

“There’s a cafe down at the end of the street,” I replied, “Somehow I saw it while drunk last night.”

“How do I know you’re not lying?” Martha asked quite worried, “How do I know that you’re not giving me the slip?”

I stepped forward and took her hands into mine, “You are right now desperate for a coffee and I’m going to buy you one to say sorry.”

Martha smiled, “You really should stop reading my mind.”  She said before pulling me into a hug, “Emmett’s also worried about you.”

“Please don’t talk to me about Emmett,” I warned her.

“What happened between you and Emmett?” Martha asked.

“I’ll tell you at the cafe.” I replied and this time I meant it.
