The deserted village (Torchwood, Jack/Ianto)

Jan 22, 2009 12:38

Jack looked around the deserted village. What had happened here to have driven away its occupants? He wished that it wasn’t like last time with those people.....he really didn’t want to think about it. After a last look around he went back inside the house where the team was stationed and the room where one of their own was resting after being attacked by.....what was it? A shadow?  Thin air? Or even maybe a ghost?

He entered to find James Elton sitting on the edge of the bed with Martha Jones talking and laughing. Though they were quiet close to each other, whispering things into their ears which would set them off laughing. They stopped when James noticed Jack leaning on the door frame.

“You seem alright.” Jack observed with a smile.

“Yes, just fainted that’s all.” James replied with a small smile. “Though I still feel a chill down my spine.” He confessed sheepishly.

Jack nodded, “Yeah, it this village, it’s giving off a very creepy vibe.” He looked back out towards the corridor. “Where are Gwen and Ianto?”

“Gwen’s gone to look around a bit more and Ianto’s around the back I think.” James replied before walking towards the window. “Yeah there he is, over by that tree.” He confirmed as Jack joined him at the window.

Jack nodded and left the house.

Ianto watched as two birds took flight above him. He was half expecting a nightingale to fly over singing a song about what had happened here. Chills were running down his spine as he thought about what had happened in the past, last time they had come to the countryside. He hoped that it wasn’t what happened here and the attack on James seemed to support his hope. An arm touched him on the shoulder.

“Are you alright?” He heard Jack ask in a worried tone.

Ianto turned his head to face him. “This village, its aggravating memories of the past.”

Jack put an arm around Ianto’s back and held him close. “Yes, I can’t stop thinking about it either.” He confessed before kissing him lightly on the forehead.

Ianto looked up at Jack, looking into his eyes. Silence had fallen between him which seemed dangerous to Ianto for some reason. A few minutes later he couldn’t stand it any longer and pushed Jack towards the tree, pulling him into a deep kiss as they went. Jack felt Ianto pulling down his suspenders and roughing unbuttoning his shirt. They certainly were now a million miles away from the village.

“Hey, get a room.” a voice yelled from the window and Jack looked up to see James looking out the window with a smirk on his face. Ianto also looked up and blushed. They looked back at each other.

And for that single moment they burst into laughter.
