The Photo (Challenge 100: 100 drabbles/falling)
Jack smiled as he looked at the photo he had taken out of his box. It was the one of him in his full captain’s uniform just before going off to fight in world war one. The memories of all those young men falling over just as they went over the top were what brought him to tears.
Many of those men had joined to have an adventure, to fight in the name of the British Empire against the Germans and allies. It was suppose to be the war that ended all wars.
How wrong that turned out to be.
