Mostly Harmful:Part Two (Doctor Who/HGTTG ficlet)
The Doctor gave a frown. “Mostly Harmful? Your guide seriously needs to update.” He said to Ford who gave him a small smile.
“Hey don’t look at me, I didn’t write the article. Been stuck on earth for fifteen years.” Ford answered with an assuring grin. The Doctor sighed and turned to Arthur.
“To answer your question, no I’m not here to save your lives because it will destroy the time line.” The Doctor explained taking out his sonic screwdriver. “May I borrow the guide please?”
Arthur nodded and handed over the guide with a bit of reluctance as he wasn’t sure was this Doctor was going to do with it. He watched as the Doctor went over it with his strange device. A few seconds later he heard the guide speak again once more.
“I’m sorry but the article ‘the face of boe’ doesn’t seem to exist.” The guide said quite cheerfully. “Please try someone else.”
“Oh well it was worth a try!” The Doctor said looking up Ford and Arthur. “He probably doesn’t exist yet.”
“Sorry but the guide said that you travelled with a female companion.” Arthur piped up.
“Right spaceman, where have we landed this time?” A voice asked and the door opened to reveal a ginger haired woman dressed in a black jacket and pants.
“We seemed to have landed in a Vogon ship.” The Doctor answered with a grin. “Donna Noble, meet Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect.”
“What from The Hitchhiker’s Guide of the Galaxy....?” Donna asked in a half whisper and Doctor nodded. “Wow, look Arthur really is in his PJs.”
Arthur was just about to reply when a loud voice came over the speakers. Ford turned to the Doctor again.
“Listen will you need to borrow a....” Ford began to ask but the Doctor interrupted.
“Oh no, I don’t need it, my Tardis is like a really big Babel fish.” He explained.
