John whistles as he gets out of the car. Only twelve days until Christmas he thinks cheerfully, keeping his mind off impending work commitments. Today he needs to think about the Christmas shopping. Not for the family but for his loving partner Scott who was now sitting at home with the dogs, probably listening to BBC Radio 2.
Soon it will also be the third anniversary of their civil partnership, something that causes a big smile on his face. They have been together for sixteen years which is a fairly long time but it’s been fun and he loves Scott very much. Now what to get him?
The mobile rings and he thinks it’s either his manager or Scott asking him to pick up a carton of milk (like they need it anyway). He lets it ring since he’s too distracted by the Christmas display in a shop window. It’s pretty with a Christmas tree and sparkly fairy lights. It reminds him of how Christmassy his house now looks now that they have now put up the Christmas decorations. Oh how he loves Christmas!
He spies a pet shop next door and wonders if Scott would love a Yorkshire terrier.
