She might've returned, but by the time they found out it was the final season, she was already committed to other things. Angel was never afforded the opportunity to go out the way they wanted to, and the WB is regretting it as nothing that has replaced it has done well.

Kim was also put off by the fact that Gellar didn't appear at the wrap party. Maybe she was too busy shooting some classic Scooby Doo scene. I don't think she ever appeared in any featurette.

Remember, The First isn't corporeal, and thus could not blow up anything.

I know it's not corporeal, but it brainwashed other people. I'm sure it could've easily brainwashed a few citizens of Sunnydale into doing it. Less dramatic, very anti-climatic, but so what? You win then.

I agree about the black chick and her whiny attitude. I was pretty much like you can kill her at anytime or if you want you can leave and be eaten by a vampire.

I too felt that SMG should have been at her own wrap party. Did the last 7 years mean nothing to her?

I didn't need to see Angel again. He was kinda flippant and he had this aura that "I'm here to save the day". I didn't like his attitude and he wasn't broody enough for me.

Overall, I really loved the season.

SMG was filming Scooby Doo 2 when they had the wrap party, so that's not her fault, but she sucked in every other way. She never did any special features for the dvd, no conventions, no video games, and has never given the magazine an interview. The new issue claims they have an interview, but it's all just quotes from the Grudge panel and San Diego Comi-con.

I'm not a huge fan. She says that the fans were the most important part of Buffy, but she has never given back to us.

The wrap party was the DAY AFTER the last day of filming. She couldn't stick around for a party, essentially in her honour? She'd be a third rate former soap star actress in B-movies if it wasn't for Buffy.

My only problem with Angel coming back was that whoever was working wardrobe that day had him dressed up like he was coming home from a Casual Friday or something. Where was the badass coat?

I agree with you about Aimee Mann by the way. Talented singer / songwriter, but if they ever make a Captain America movie, she can play The Red Skull.

Sarah Michelle Gellar was always the worst part of Buffy, anyway. Whiny, unattractive, and not that great an actress, when you get right down to it.
