That's what I thought. I would see this if I didn't have something else to see or if I needed something to rent.

At this point, saying Judi Dench gives an excellent performance is almost redundant, as she is seemingly incapable of anything but....s good enough reason to watch the movie on its own

Amen.

It's definitely Dench's terrific perfmormance that's makes this movie watchable.

Another highlight is the supporting role by Bill Nighy, who delivers the best moment in the movie.

Which moment would that be? I thought his performance was really good too and underrated by the critics.

When Nighy blew up at Blanchett after learning of her affair. There were things he said that made me think "AMEN!"

When he asks her what she was lacking in the marriage? And why she didn't approach him? Yeah, I thought that was really good.

And when he points out the significant difference between his affair with her when she was younger (but of age) and hers with the boy.
