It's wierd, i just borrowed a burnt copy of this movie from my cousin yesterday and watched it and i couldn't decide whether i liked it or not but i think i would've liked it if the opposite ending occured, not the one that actually happened. I won't go into more detail, not wanting to ruin it for others.

A different ending would have made me a sad panda. I actually thought the ending and the reasoning behind it was really good.

I thought the ending we got suited the movie we got, whereas the original ending would've suited the movie I was expecting.

I too was tricked by the advertising of the movie, but still thought it was very good. I also rarely see movies, so perhaps the formula is not as apparent to me.

I never understood how Harold and Ana could just BAM fall in love, though, and that bothered me.

Your first mistake is thinking love can be understood.

Then is there a point in romantic comedies?

Probably not. They're just supposed to make you go, "awwwwwwwww, love."
