Well since it cost more to park in downtown Calgary than it does in L.A. or Paris, I think I can be forgiven for not going downtown. Besides, Joe Multiplex isn't just about location, he's about a particular mindset. He's the LCD, the demographic that every marketing firm is looking for. He's got lots of disposable income and will go see pretty much any fancy blow'em-up and later buy whatever new big-name DVD releases come out every week.
I've only paid for parking to see movies downtown twice, so if they're actually giving you money to park in LA and Paris, that's a good deal. Otherwise, it's hard to beat free.
