Mini-series Review: Band of Brothers

Yes, it's the mini-series that I think is so good that I made it #2 on my Top 5 War Movies, even though it's not a "movie."

Well, I was at home in Tonawanda, but then Hitler started this whole thing, so now I'm here. )

I was going to eventually get around to watching this, even though I'm not a big war movies man. I see now that it is worth my time.

Before I saw the series I was thinking it was going to be good, but nothing I haven't seen in the dozens of WWII movies out there I've seen. I was far from right.

There's a new series in the works? Didn't know that. Maybe it'll be on the Water Rats.

It will be set in the Pacific Theatre and is slated for 10 episodes. Band of Brothers was actually based on a book by Stephen Ambrose but the new series will not be based on any material that exists currently. Check the link: http://www.spielbergfilms.com/pacifichome.html

I'm really excited - the Pacific Theatre was all about planes, boats with big fuckin' guns and gruesome beach landings galore! Wahoo!

Oh okay... I thought it would be linked to the last ten. But, you know me, I confuse myself easily...

I didn't think Webster tried to get out of his first mission since returning, I thought he was trying to get other people out of the mission, since he could tell they resented him for missing Bastogne and they needed the break more than he.
