I'd recommend watching it with the commentary on, but you didn't seem to enjoy the dry humour that much to begin with. I still find it to be a classic mockumentary (even though I hate that term).

Well, their banter over the opening menu was good. I suspect the commentary would be hilarious. I just felt the movie was way too serious. Maybe it was funny at the time like I said, but a lot of what was absurd then isn't now.
