Were you two cooking this up all night in one of your gay conversations? Those things were never said by me, you fucking liars.

The first rule of IM is: You do not talk about IM.

The only "gay conversations" we have is conversations about how gay "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" is.

i hadn't read ebert's review on this movie in the past, but i was well aware of just how much the public loves this movie. i like it quite a bit yself because there is a message, and that's not something you get much of in hollywood. also, brad pitt is really damn attractive, oh dear lord. however, when you deconstruct the movie to its ultimate meaning as ebert does, the message does seem a tad inconsistent from start to finish. and for me, the lack of female representation (except for weird marla singer, whose femininity and sense of self-worth is still dependent on whether the guy will fuck her--she's not independent and does not leave when durden/narrator ignores her) in the movie really makes me a little crazy--yes, i know it's about "maleness", specifically white, nearing-middle-age, middle class maleness in america, but aren't there a fucking lot of those coming out of hollywood? i think we all have a good grasp of what it is to be male and materialistic and empty, thanks to this movie. now women need to have a fight club ( ... )
