I'm not trying to change your mind on this at all. You say you don't like it, fine, you don't like it. There's one thing I have to say and then I'll drop the whole matter. A lot of Gump-haters have written this, so I feel I should rebut.

Forrest Gump is not retarded. He reads, he writes, he lives on his own and takes care of himself (and later Jenny and Little Forrest). He is slow, but not retarded. I'm sure they'd have no trouble executing him in Texas. A lot of complaints kept referring to him as a guy with an IQ of 75. Again, untrue. As a six year old kid he had an IQ of 75. He learned a few things since then, he evolved and matured. One of the reasons why his mom fought so hard to get him into a real school is because she wanted him to have a chance to learn and grow.

I never once called Mr. Gump 'retarded'. I said 'mentally challenged' which could easily translate into 'slow', 'retarded', or 'Vince McMahon'. Regardless of your semantics arguement, the character is still a dolt, and boy do popcorn guzzling audiences love a dolt! They'll blindly follow him and his stupid fucking feather off the goddamn cliff like the lemmings that they are.

They did a couple of specials, one called the Little Golden Statue Preview Special, and then there was the Annual Summer Blockbuster Special... I reckon it was from one of these and not an actual episode, but my memory is fuzzy at this point.
