One of the few films I actually went to see at the cinema in the year 2004. (unless I go see a bunch tomorrow...) Mainly because I'm a Mann-mark.

Sorry, but I tried to read an Anne Rice book once, & if it didn't belong to a library, I would've thrown it on a fire. I just find her to be terribly overrated. Like Jack Kerouac.

I've heard a lot of her writing is trash, but I like Interview and The Vampire Lestat. Anne Rice herself, though, is a pompous lunatic. Plus I can see the criticisms; she's too descriptive for her own good a lot of the time.

Exactly, so if it was a good adaptation or not, I couldn't comment. All I know is, I was fairly creeped out by Cruise as Lestat & not in a way I savour.
