Thx pengyn :) Most everyone seems pretty confident it'll all get sorted in a relatively timely fashion ... I received an email from my head of dept saying "enjoy your extended holiday ... the year 8's will be waiting for you when you get back!" (I don't *think* she meant it to sound quite so ominous, although... one never knows!)
OK, 5 weeks isn't too terrible. Well it is, but it could be worse. Here's hoping that it really only takes 5 weeks because you must be there for AT3! *fingers crossed*
No, 5 weeks isn't too bad...ish. It could have been much worse. (Well tech it's still in the realm of possibilities to be much worse, but we're going with the whole positive thinking thing!) And yeah, I'll def be back for GABIT!!! Broke beyond all heck, but there :) (Did I mention the whole 'positive thinking' thing?)
And if all else fails, I've got friends in Van who want me to visit, so I'd be a tad closer to visiting you that way too :P (In the N. American sense of closer, granted, but still! :P)
Seriously though, the only thing I can do right now is wait - this stage is out of my hands, unfortunately. Hopefully I'll hear back soon about moving to the next stage of the process. I'll keep y'all posted!
Dude. Firstly - yes, they're strapped for cash. Dad'll never admit that but ... he's hinted, which tells me it's potentially approaching very bad. Where's that darn lottery win when we need it!! (Yay for grandparents ... more family guilt to ride out but their cheques don't tend to bounce, so it's all good. Worth it. I think. Yeah.)
