(Between Piplover's posting Chapter 8, and Lindelea's posting of Chapter 9, there was a rather lengthy time in which poor Pippin and his friends languished, neglected by the writers. I agree, Pippin-- why write "h" with no "c" to balance it out? :P

I wished this didn't end... we could've done well with some comfort fro easing the hobbits nerves after all this... there should be sequel. ;)

'Twas a good tale all the way around... and one that will be a nice addition for the children of the Shire, once the Hobbits return.

Glad Tolkien finally finished the tale... I'll bet it was many many months between chapters... I guess we writers needn't feel too ashamed for a month or two's lapse!

Thanks for sharing this - it was a delightful read.
