Too many pets?

My dad nearly had a fit over me breaking the news to my parents about Trumpy, the tripod mouse I took in a while ago. Mom said I 'overdid the animals thing'. Sure, I have eight rats, a mouse, four madagascar hissing cockroackes and a bowl of guppies, but I can afford proper food, housing and veterinary care for them all, so what's the problem. It's

I don't really know, since the only pets I've had are goldfishes and a turtle. Are your parents scared of any animals, or maybe they worry you might run out of space to house them if you adopt more animals in the future?

My paretns aways tried to have pets in the house for us, first it was fish, then finches, and finally cats. They like my rats stories, I don't know *shrugs*
