Humans were still idiots. As a race, they always had been. Crystalyne Regina hated that she’d had the bad luck to be born one of them. The fae had much more healthy and realistic perspectives, and on the whole were a lot more interesting. There was so very much in the universe that her fellow humans were always overlooking in favor of their own ( Read more... )

No matter how the vote comes out, I’m glad I got to intersect with you! I think our pieces worked well together! I wish I’d been more proactive about spreading the word on the competition before now, but I barely have time to compete, so what will be will be.

This was great! I have to admit that I often find myself having a "look out for number one" attitude, pushing people away or simply not letting them get too close. It's a wonderful feeling finding someone you can really connect with that can change your life, even if your experience with them is fleeting.

This really works as both a cautionary tale and a reminder that it is never too late to live life. This worked beautifully in that sense with your partner's piece, but it's also so strong on its own.

Good work!

Thank you kindly! As always with idol, I wish I’d had more time to devote to writing and editing, but these intersections have been a lot of fun.

I’m very glad you enjoyed! There are some really neat adaptions of the Snow Queen out there for sure.

It seems like despite all the false starts for her, things ended up in a potentially good place for a possible better direction for her to take in the future... let's hope she makes some more rewarding choices, and is able to learn and grow... maybe that unique longing and the odd resolve between that unusual last pairing is just the different element that could finally make a real difference for her cycle, by leading her to break out of her own patterns... assuming she's capable.

There was so much I could have done with that concept of the cycle and the story that “me_sonrei” introduced! But time is kicking my butt these days, so I was unable to get any of that in. Thank you kindly for your feedback!

I think the implication was there that there may be the potential for her to... I don't know that any more would have been required, the suggestion was good enough, and it leaves the reader to interpret, which is a good thing. I just don't happen to know whether or not this character is capable of that sort of growth, which is all I meant my that. ;-)

This was a wonderful use of the Snow Queen, and I loved the way it fit in with me_sonrei's story. it was so well-written! Crystalyne was a great character.

I love the name Crystalyne! My best friend growing up was a Crystalyne, but we lost touch while I was in college so it was kind of bittersweet to use her name here. But I also thought it was a great Snow Queen moniker, so I felt compelled to use it. Thank you kindly for your feedback!
