Please check ALL your food and treats. If anything contains wheat gluten, I would stop using it ASAP! Dog and cat treats are now being recalled

This pet recall is so scary! The wet food I feed my cats was on the first list with just a few expiration dates that were recalled. Now they say that everything in that variety is being recalled. My cats have been fine and I hope the second recall and this treats recall is just to protect themselves and cover their bases. It would be really sad to the all the people who kept on feeding their pets thinking they were in the clear.
I'm glad to hear your pets are fine. If you didn't get them tested, I would see if Menu foods is paying for people to get their animals tested. I have heard mixed reports on this.
I dont know what treats or food will really call problems.. and thats really the issue. So as a precautionary move, I think its better to stop feeding things with wheat gluten totally. You don't have to throw them away but until we know for sure what the issue is its best to stop.
I really hope I haven't been feeding them something with wheat gluten. I thought I had checked everything but I forgot to check the treats last night. I checked the food and bones I feed them.
This whole thing is ridiculous & so scary! I keep checking for updates on the recall just about every day. So far none of our foods, wet or dry (we don't really give our cats treats much) are on any of the recall lists that I've seen, thank goodness.
I have not heard back about the dog treats. I will check the box when I get home to see if it contains wheat gluten. If so, they wont get them anymore.
Do any of the foods you are giving them have wheat gluten? I wouldn't wait for them to be recalled...I would stop using them if they have the gluten and find out where it came from. The part that bugs me is they are recalling too late (and they know where their gluten comes from!).
No, I've checked all of our food & treat packages, and none have wheat gluten. Many have wheat flour and/or corn gluten, but not wheat gluten specifically. We did buy a couple of cans that had wheat gluten a couple of weeks ago right when the recall was announced, but as soon as I heard about it I pulled those cans and we returned them to the store (we'd bought them in an attempt to find a different food variety that Pepper would eat more readily since she's still not eating much since she got sick).
