It's bad enough losing one member of your family - but three?!

She reports ever so briefly on it on her myspace (and changed her user pic to one of her and her brother)... however Jennifer has told reporters that she is completely staying out of the "spotlight" and refraining from commenting in the press to keep the focus of the nation's attention where it belongs... on the search for her nephew.

I've been so saddened to hear of this tragedy, and have been praying for her several times a day.

I didn't know how to react when they confirmed that her nephew had been shot as well - more than Jennifer, I feel even worse for her sister Julia, for whom this must be even worse (if that's at all possible).

These are the times when I really value the strength of the human spirit.

I saw the headline with her name in it on Friday but I was at work and couldn't really click it to see what was up. It wasn't until I got home Friday night and my mother told me that I knew. You're right, it is terrible! She and her family are definitely in my prayers.

Any idea what happened to her father? Was her mother a single parent?

I don't know for sure. For some reason I thought I'd read somewhere that he'd passed away, but I would not swear to that.

Yeah, looked it up - apparently he died when she was a teenager.
