Shakira Plays Psychologist

London: On the cover of her new album, Oral Fixation, Vol. 2, the Colombian pop singer and songwriter Shakira plays Eve, clothed only in strategic leaves. Perched next to her in a tree is a baby girl, reaching for the apple Shakira holds in her hand. For obvious reasons, it's eye-catching, as was the cover of the Spanish-language companion album ( Read more... )

My junior year in high school we had to make music videos and turns out I was in a group w/ fat kids...which meant I resemebled Shakira the most...which meant I had to put on a blonde wig, a plunging neckline belly shirt, some high heels and sing "Suerte" - the Spanish version of "Wherever, Whenever". I'll admit it.........I was awesome.

Oh, and her new single - "Don't Bother"

Loves It!

I just love Shakira all around...

Heh heh. At present, I've got a thing for La Tortura, although the random circular wiggling of her breasts gets disturbing at times.

i got into Shakira when she was only recording in Spanish. i could not unerstand a fuckin' word and she fuckin' rocked! she's listenable now that she sings in English, but it's pale in comparison - the awful lyrics that i can now understand are difficult to ignore.

i have a similar issue with some of ricky martin's stuff. i first heard SHE BANGS in Spanish - not only was the horn mix so much hotter than the tepid English mix i heard soon after, i couldn't understand the semi-ludicrous lyrics that have made the song a joke.

I agree - the first time I heard Shakira sing was her performance of Ojos Así at the Latin Grammys, and when she came out with an English album it sounded awkward and forced in comparison.

There is no English version of Volume 1.

Showing someone the shape of one's heart requires going to great lengths, like actually ripping it out,a lthough this is not suggested as it may damage the aforementioned shape. Then there are various scans and x ray type things. The bottom line is that it's the effort that goes behind the showing of the shape of one's heart that counts. Do not underestimate the deep meaning in Lisa Milkovsky's lyrics.

Actually, your heart is shaped like your fist. All you'd need to do to show someone the shape of your heart would be to show them your fist - although I'm sure punching people in the face isn't what she intended.
