If you watch...

This reddit thread mentions that "If you watch the movie `Jaws' backwards, it's a movie about a shark that keeps throwing up people until they have to open a beach". I thought it was a funny meme so I've collected the best ones here plus a few that I rewrote or made up. Try posting your own.

If you watch Poltergeist backwards, it's about a pit full of zombies getting covered over by a peaceful suburban household, and then a little girl gets spat out of a television set.

If you watch The Ring backwards, it's about the amazing resurrecting powers of television.

If you watch Logan's Run backwards, it's about people creeping through steam tunnels to an amazing paradise where Farrah Fawcett is assembled by lasers, and everybody gets a nice shiny crystal in their palm.

If you watch The Poseidon Adventure backwards, it's about a band of people slowly assembling so they can turn their strange upside-down-ship-universe right side up.

If you watch Field of Dreams backwards, they will go so you can demolish it.

I really like the last one, but I think it needs a tweak:

If you watch Field of Dreams backward, it's about exorcising a haunted baseball field so that they can demolish it to plant corn.

That's interesting but I like the play on "if you build it, they will come" more.

Martin Amis's novel, Time's Arrow explores this theme: in reverse, doctors are savages who hurt people for a living, while pimps are miracle workers who heal with their loving punches.

And the Nazis, of course, spend nearly five years bringing six million Jews, gypsies, and homosexuals back to life.

If you watch Saving Private Ryan backwards, it's the story of how one man stays behind so that eight men can go home to their families.

Episode 1 of Season III of Red Dwarf explores the theme too; the crew ends up on Earth in 1993 but time is running backwards.

If you watch Wall-E backwards, it's about a sadistic little robot who forces humanity to leave earth then disassembles it a block at a time.

If you watch Doomsday backwards, people are cannibals who slowly evolve, tear down the wall, and turn into insufferable bureaucrats.

+1 on the MacGyver reference, btw.

If you watch MST3K: The Movie backwards, it's about a group of alien scientists that blow up their planet and settle secretly all on Earth. All while being mocked by a guy and two robots.

If you watch Close encounters of the Third Kind backwards, a huge spaceship makes some strange noises then leaves the earth, a child mysteriously reunited with his mother and Richard Dreyfuss recovers from a case of sunburn.
