The last Presidential debate ended last week and I'd like to tally a scorecard. I figure not necessarily that I'm looking for the more honest man or the lesser sinner, but that the better choice will be the candiate that the facts favor. The candidate who can present a successful argument with fewer distortions because reality works in their favor. Who stretched the truth more? Here's the tally. (Lower numbers are better.)
Debate 1: McCain 6, Obama 3 (1 tie)
VP Debate: Palin 4, Biden 2
Debate 2: McCain 3.5, Obama 2 (1 tie)
Debate 3: McCain 4, Obama 3
Total: Republicans 17.5, Democrats 10 (fewer is better)
Aside: Obama also handily beat McCain in the
flag pin category, three to zero.
