What exactly do you feel hopeful about re: driving drunk?

That you won't die? Or get arrested and make anti-semitic and sexist remarks?

That's it, pretty much. I am fearful of the consequences of drunk driving, but also quite hopeful/optimistic that I would escape those consequences and arrive home unscathed.

I am concerned that with this chart, our host is attempting to map 'hope' and 'thrilling' onto the same axis. There can be no doubt that driving while drunk is a thrilling experience, in part I am sure because of the whole 'fear' thing. Or, perhaps, 'hope' is being contaminated by the concept of 'things that make my dick hard'; ie. "I'm not afraid of not winning the lottery, but I'm not excited by it either because it'll never happen."

This doesn't map well onto drunk driving, which should be expressed as "I'm rather afraid of driving drunk, but adrenaline junkies sure seem to like it". That's different from hope, so perhaps that should be reexamined.

I would refer you to the director's cut of Donnie Darko, for reasons which are obvious if you've seen it and maybe not quite so if you've not. Actually, they may also be obvious if you've not seen the director's cut, since I can't recall if the same axis stuff was in the non-director's cut.

While more accurate, your chart would be difficult to read on a ticket.

I'm also curious why you fear trilobites more than genetic engineering and the Check Engine light (which typically comes on first as a warning) to driving drunk.

Finally, what occupies the 0-point? Toenails? White T-shirts? Ramen noodles?

They are benthic and vagile, and probably occupy many roles in the food chain. INCLUDING DEVOURING OUR CHILDREN!! THEY MUST BE STOPPED AT ALL COSTS!

I never tire of these charts. Polly Esther was the master of the genre, though.

shouldn't a sunburn be as natural (or almost) as the sun?
