The dead people living under the bed
are making a ruckus again.
They want so much for their candidate
to be elected, to be recognized, sworn in,
photographed and featured on the cover of US.
They expect to attend the inauguration,
and instead they are trapped under the bed,
howling and kicking corpses who belong
to other political parties and tearing out
the springs the mattress rests on. How is one
to get any sleep? Nothing works except
to assure them their votes will be counted.
Their blood's all over everything, but it won't
have been shed in vain. This will go on
for another seven months. There was a time--
you may find this hard to believe--when corpses
didn't have the right to vote or run for office.
