I think one of the boingboing commenters nailed it -- the "artist" in question is just a hack who has found his own velvet elvis niche, a genre where suckers are willing to pay inflated prices for his "fine" art prints. Complete the sentence, "a fool and his money soon are _____."

The high-snark version is good of course.

It just blows my mind that they put Thomas Paine in the picture. I mean, Jefferson, can't avoid putting Jefferson in there. But THOMAS PAINE? The guy who wrote THE AGE OF REASON?
