...wow. I think my later obsession with Orochimaru/Jiraiya was actually prototyped with Rajura/Shuu. Weiiiird.

To this day I am still ridiculously fond of YST (obviously, I know XD) and a;sldkfjaslk thank you for that image, now I'll never be able to watch the Rajura/Shuu scenes without thinking of that. XD

(You know, thank god f_w hadn't really taken off back when I was properly in YST fandom. I'd have been on there, like, every other week, I was so pissed off at the fandom. Thankfully, I've mellowed since. XD)

I'm kind of glad that I'm not the only one who is still a little hung-up on the series after all this time. It was the first series I role-played, the first series I read fanfic for, the first series I wrote fanfic for. (And I feel old because of it: I never was a teenage fangirl; I watched YST in college!)

I think the only reason I'm not still heavily into the fandom is that, well, the fandom is not all that active or well-written. But OMG ME TOO. My first anime fanfics were YST and it was the first series I watched raw and the first series I bought doujinshi and artbooks for! (I-- I bought nearly every single YST artbook ever, I was so, so obsessed with it.) *wistful* To this day I get the urge to go rewatch the series all over from the beginning.

Also, YST~ Awwww. I just remember watching the HORRIBLE DUB on Cartoon Network and my sister and I changing everyone's names into the dirty-word parodies of them when we were, like, eleven. Oh, fun times, fun times.

I got into YST because my friends were into it and they were into the original series and it wasn't on at the time, so I got familiarized with the original first and then, months later, the dub came on I was OH MY GOD WHYYYYYY. But! Now we have DVDs with both language tracks! *___*

XD! Fun stuff! Yeah, I just watched it on TV. Eventually I downloaded it and watched it that way, but it wasn't one of the ones I found on my own (like, ironically, Yu Yu Hakusho before Gundam Wing even aired in the US, LOL). It was fun to "rewrite" it with my sister, though: crack!bonding.

Omg, I was into YYH before GundamW came to the US, too! Which is what led me to GundamW, actually, because so many people wrote both series or even wrote crossovers and I was desperate for more fic, so I started reading GW fic. Which then eventually led to YST as well, since so many GW friends were into YST as well. (And then Slayers and then every other old-school series under the sun. XD)
