SO. FUDGIN'. PRETTY ;o; I must say that I endured watching the movie just because of his appearanvces XDDD I completely sympathized with the old, uninspired artist protagonist XDD !
Whenever I head about Death in Venice I can't help but think about this scene from a film I've seen quite a long time ago.
Translation: Hey guys, maybe you'd like to watch a film? I watch several films a day. Car chases, shootouts, gang wars - that's my daily bread. I have a new, fucking awesome film: "Death in Venice". Sounds cool, huh?
LOL XD And that's only the beginning of the movie XDDD Anyway, it's seriously SLOW but I wouldn't say it's completely boring-- The director shows some skills there, making the pace of the character's yours :o --I GOT REALLY ANXIOUS EVERY TIME THE PRETTY BOY SHOWS UP (BTW, he's a Polish shota bishie XD)
But he's in the boat only at the beginning of the movie XDDD And it made me kinda LOL--- You can get from the movie how we Italians like to patronize our poor German tourists, LOL XD
Glad you've been keeping yourself busy with some fun stuff besides work!
I am a dummy and kind of forgot that I do still want to order some doujin from you... I actually have a job now so I have a bit of money to buy them, yay! I just remember we were appalled at the high shipping costs. But anyway. I want This Time, It's For Ever!, and if you still have them, Ancien Régime, and Everything Else is a Faraway Sound... You can send me an email at pickleweasel1208(at)gmail(dot)com so we can work it out. And I hope you aren't offended that I don't want the Give Bison! one... I'm sure it's good, I'm just not into the fandom.
I do understand your frustration, though. It can't be fun to go to the effort of making and printing a doujin and then not being able to sell at least most of them. I like the idea of preorders if you decide to make more.
Thank you \;o;/ It's ok if you don't want Bison, getting those is more than enough for me (also, last copy of Regime, YAY!) T_T I'll write you already :3
Yes, it's quite frustrating T_T; I admit that everything is practically zero cost to me, 'cause I use the money raised from the commissions, but still, it's quite frustrating to see all those unsold copies there ;_; I noticed that making doujinshi of fandom stuff can be profittable if you're Japanese and live in Japan, but here it's quite risky: you may do your stuff, but in the end it depends all on the favourite pairings, fandom, characters of the audience... When in Enschede during the YaYCon I had the chance to observe them, if they don't like a character or don't know the fandom your booklet is just trash to them... And I can see that, I'm the same kind of person, after all ^_^;
Ooh, I'm lucky to get the last copy of that one! I wrote you back :)
Well, you do commissions to make extra money and if you spend it on making booklets that don't sell, then you lose that money... And yeah, it's different in Japan, I suppose. I'm sure some doujin don't do as well as others there, too, though.
Well, for example, I tried to sell my doujinshi through a shop here in Rome that sells doujinshi, and they told me that they can't sell my stuff because of copyright issues. I wonder why Japanese doujinshi were ok then, and they told me that since they are foreign merchandise they are governed by different regulations. GO FIGURE. It may be true that certain circles or pairings are not very popular in Japan either, but unpopularity in Japan means that you sell at least 50 booklets during a convention :/ In Japan there are lots of doujinshi markets and conventions and the audience is used to them, so they have a nicer market than us Westerners. I visited HaruComi this year, and I can assure you that there were crappy drawn booklets too. They didn't sold out, but they definitely sell better than me in these months :/
