Just out of curiosity... do you have one of the cheap LG DVD drives from super billing? because I also have one of those, and had no problems. I also managed to get newer drivers for my P.O.S Radeon under ubuntu than any windows distro.

I still maintain that you are they screwed something up, not Linux.

Hell, if I can get it running first go on my PC it'll run on damn near anything.

Nope, its an LG I've had for a while. Its worked fine under two versions of Windows. Basically if it works in Windows, it should work in Ubuntu, no?

Perhaps I should ask exactly what you mean by 'not working'? Not detected? Not playing DVDs?

Its not detecting the DVD drive and whenever I set the monitor at its Max Resolution, it says "Input not detected"
