Sweet, I was already working on this when you posted it, so I just had a couple thoughts to finish up.

In the aptly-titled "Many Meetings", we get introductions to several new and important characters, plus some important returning characters, plus some important insights on characters we already knew. Maybe I can do this in list format, because there's nothing Kairos likes better than a list.

Gandalf! He was delayed because he was held captive. Daaaamn. Lots of valuable wisdom to impart, as always, though in this case my favorite little revelation is about why the Ring turns you invisible. It's not a feature or a bug, it's just what happens when you enter the world of the wraiths.

Aragorn. He's become dear to Frodo, and he's seen speaking to Arwen, and we find out what a Ranger really "is". His friendship with Bilbo is touching. I love that having a lot of names is his trademark - I know we have still a couple to discover although I can't make an accurate list for that.

Butterbur. This is probably the last time he's ever ( ... )

Yeah, I had those thoughts about the class divide, too. It might make sense that Sam tries to take the place of all of Frodo's servants, though, if he's thinking that these are all tasks that need to be done for his master and he's the only one around who can do them right. (I still think that Bilbo and Frodo had an entire staff at Bag End, who just weren't mentioned.)

I hope it wasn't because I was zoning out and missed it, but did we really get much of a description of what Rivendell looks like?

I don't think we did, really, and now you've got me all intrigued about this. Practically everyone agrees on how these sets and clothing and creatures and people should look, which is a pretty rare thing when it comes to adaptations, but how did we know? On a similar note, I've been lowkey looking out for some evidence that Elves have pointed ears, and I haven't found it yet.
