We asked busy Toma questions associated with houses and rooms. What kind of house does Toma yearn for?
What do you want in your room right now?
Green.... decorative plants I guess? For a long time, I've been thinking of getting one but I haven't bought it. (laugh) It seems that it's not easy to get one so, as far as possible, I want one that doesn't need much taking care of. Because of the nature of my work, I've got to receive many flowers but if it's a potted plant, I'll get them to place it at the office and if it's a bouquet, I'll give it to my mother.
If you were to have a villa, what is your ideal villa?
As expected, the place's gotta to be waii-ha right? (laugh) Ahhh, I wanna go to Hawaii. It doesn't have to be grand or anything. It's okay even if I can't see the sea from my room. Just the thought of, "I have a villa in Hawaii" is good enough. (laugh) The moment I reach, I'll be able to go grab my swimming trucks and beach slippers, just being able to do that is fine. (laugh) Speaking of which, since we were young, whether something happens, Yamashita (Tomohisa) would said, "Let's buy a villa in Hawaii someday!" It's like a keyword for him when he needs some motivation, I guess?
Do you prefer a mansion* or a bungalow?
Well, I've asked many different people about this. (laugh) But when I collated the results, it seems that the level of satisfaction for a bungalow is pretty high. For the people who chose mansion, many of them gave "security" or the likes as the main reason. For people who chose bungalow, they gave really serious answers such as, "it's a good asset". (laugh) And, as expected, "it's something I've been dreaming of" is also a popular answer. When I hear answers like that, I guess I'm starting to think that a bungalow is good.
One recent happening.
Thanks to everyone, I've been pretty busy. Right now, I'm only working on "Tale of Genji" but soon, it'll be pretty important that I can balance this with the stageplay. Eh? Will I continue with the literary series? You've got a point there. Dazai Osamu to Murasaki Shikibu, Matsumoto Seichō to Mishima Yukio**.. my image's slowly becoming a "heavy person", isn't it? Ah, right in the middle, there's Sadamecchi (Unubore Deka), so it should be all right. (laugh) But right now, I've got lots of such "heavy" books in my bag, it's almost like I'm a young literary enthusiast. (laugh)
But while I'm able to be a part of such literary works, I too, want to be a person that's actually cheerful and not too serious. That's why, in order to strike a balance, I've got "One Piece" in my bag too. But to be honest, to be able to appear in Mishima Yukio's work, and on top of that, to have Ninagawa Yukio as the director, as an actor, it is such an honor. Amongst actors, many of us are fans of Mishima-san's works. Matsujun is one of them too. When I told him that I'll be doing, "Madame de Sade" and "My Friend Hitler", he told me that he loves Mishima's work and watched quite a bit of them. Because he has many fans with worldwide views, I have to put in all I've got!

Yes, I am still alive. It's been almost a month since my last translation. Procrastination is my middle name. But anyhow, I'm back with one article at least. I translated this pretty quickly but the part where he started mentioning all the writers names really got me. I'm sooo bad at reading names. Seriously Toma, you need to start doing some more light-hearted works!
