I have to say that I am NOT a James Bond fan - I've never seen a Bond film I've been more than 'meh' about - and I absolutely LOVED Skyfall. It was so much fun, and the characters were all interesting and Bond had so much DEPTH ♥ Yay!

It's interesting how many people who are not previously into Bond really like Skyfall. I guess it's the newness of it - I spoke to a lot of people about this and everybody likes the way it doesn't follow 'the formula' of the old movies. And as you say, the characters are very interesting. It's one of the best written Bond scripts. :)

I was mainly quite impressed - especially with the amount of Judi Dench - but not with the stepping uninvited into the shower with a woman whose history of sexual abuse he was aware of.

He's a bit of a dick that way, isn't he? But at least it's not a prolonged scene. I'm not excusing the act but the writers were probably under pressure to put a bit of sexy times. Personally, I'd rather he stepped into the shower with Eve. Heh.

>>And that's the very reason I love it. It's different, it's new, it's refreshing.

Yes! That's what I felt too after I saw it.

And so happy there was just one Bond woman too, even though she wasn't even the usual Bond woman (as in the usual love scene at the end of the film).

I can't wait to see it again!
BTW, I saw it at Sony's screening room, so it wasn't IMAX. I bet the cinematography is amazing on an IMAX screen!

With that said, there are a few scenes that I felt were... a bit "suspended on relief". But again, it's a movie. And I love the twist about Skyfall at the end.

And the real Bond woman, so to speak, is M in this film... so that's one more plus point about the movie. As you have mentioned, I really love the fact that this is an exploration of the relationship between Bond and M.

In Casino Royale, in one of the first scenes Daniel Craig had, Bond said he was surprised that 'M' was not just a title. That it had something to do with her real name. And it implied that "oh hey, Bond! You know her quite well, then!" I've been waiting to see that being elaborated in the later movies and that was EXACTLY what I got in Skyfall. It's AMAZING.

Oh please go see it in IMAX if you can. The images are so glorious! It seems that the entire movie is in IMAX. The Scotland part is even more dramatic in that huge screen. Beautiful.

I cheered internally when I saw the meaning of Skyfall. And my mind immediately went to Game Of Thrones because of the statue in that scene. Haha!
