Oh, wow.

I still feel sad and pained re: Failsafe, and you did beyond an excellent job of exampling why.

I mean that as only the highest of compliments!

Reading Failsafe fic is always interesting, and anything from Artemis's perspective is very emotional, but this? This is just haunting and beautiful. And I want to pick apart each and every line and tell why I love it so much.

Disjointed as the exercise has left her, one thing is clear: she wants to vomit up everything that has happened to her teammates, she wants to do something that will make them all feel clean again (blood will out, Artemis thinks disjointedly. She is going to break their hearts)

GODDDDDDD. This line. Everything about it is so gorgeous and so Artemis and just. OH. :(

And, and and!!

She can feel Wally watching her, somber, steady; if she reached out, she could touch the waffle-knit of his shirt over the flat line of his belly and feel the rise and fall of his breathing under her hand.My poor bbs

I HATE YOU, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME??? Oh my god, this left me feeling broken all over again, just when I was starting to deal with my Failsafe feelings, oh god, I want to curl up in a ball and CRY FOREVER.

Things that broke me:

The walls follow her, and Artemis wonders if she’s still a person, or if she’s become a ghost. Ex-Artemis. Un-Artemis. (Robin would know.) - I LOVE the way that the team is with Artemis in her afterlife, the same way she is with them in on the mission. I adore this line because... I'm not sure how to word this, but I guess because of the way it makes them seem like ghosts in her world the way that she is in theirs? and then the way that she looks for Kaldur even though she knows it's pointless because it's what he would do, and the way she watches the boys go to their deaths, and the way Red Tornado is the only one she can accept comfort from (OF COURSE HE IS), and Artemis not wanting Batman to tell her mother, and everything about the last section especially broke my heart, oh Artemis. :(((((
